Default Sales invoice for '67, VIN 00487

What do you think of this. When my father passed away long ago I found the sales invoice from a 67 convertible he bought in April 1968, 4 days after returning from Vietnam. Believing that old Corvettes never die, I put a notice on the c2 registry and have looked for the car for 15 years. Well, it recently appeared for sale at proteam, currently car 1061J. I contacted them, explaining what I had, and the salesman replied well obviously you want something for it, but send me a picture. So, I did, to no reply. I followed up last week with an email to Terry Michaelis. His reply was that he would "keep it in mind". WTF? I thought that this was the type of thing Corvette enthusiasts got excited about. I'd love to reunite the almost 50 year old paper with the car, and I've spent years looking for it, only to have my eventual success locating the car amount to nothing. My last attempt will be this post in the hopes that whoever buys the car will be a forum member. As stated before it's on the c2 registry but mistakenly posted as a coupe #194377S100487. Thoughts and advice appreciated. Thanks

You found the car. Wasn't that the point to your 15 year quest? I found my father's 65 that he bought new and sold in 68.

Are you just trying to get the paperwork back with the car?

does the dealer invoice reflect what the car is now? if it differs I could see why they would not want it. if it matches what the car is then i can't see why they wouldn't

They probably think you want big bucks for it. It's a good piece of history but maybe not worth much unless they already have a lot of documentation-and this is a missing link. If there is little or no documentation, I think it's just neat to have but not significant.
How much is it worth?

Default First Corvette

I bought my first Corvette from them when I returned from Vietnam, bought it in Feb. 1968. It was a 67 Coupe 427-435, Power Windows, Power brakes, Side Exhaust, Boltons, Redlines, 4 speed, TI ign.4.11 posi. Maroon with Black interior. All for the price of 3200.00 worked at A&D Sunoco if anyone remembers Armin Hess...

We can see why they may not have gone gaga for the invoice. It's a used car invoice, with no information showing the options on the car. Not much there of value beyond the name of the owner in 1968.

Well, they have a picture of it so if you wanted something for it you are out of luck now.

Since that paperwork doesn't have info. regarding engine/trans. etc., they probably aren't interested because it's probably no longer the car that was originally sold.

Man... I'd make a serious effort to buy the car back if it was my father.

It’s a NOM car! So paperwork becomes a little less valuable!

You have to get a kick out of the way they worded the warranty!

If this thread is meant to eventually get that paper with the car:

Try posting in the ORPHAN VIN stamped Parts and docs thread we have going at the top of the page in the Sticky section. It’s intended for this very purpose:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...list-here.html

Also, no one is going to find anything with this thread title.

Actually, it will. A google vin search now detects this thread since the vin is in it.

What doesn't show up is the Pro Team listing for the car. I guess they must not post the vin.

It's probably now advertised by Pro Team as an original, matching numbers, big block convertible.

The last digit of the year is missing so you can’t really establish the year the document was written.
