And the early C4 brakes were nothing to shout about. I changed my 87 to the later brakes, and felt like they should of been there from the start (although they just barely cleared the 16" stock rims, so the calipers required a little trimming on the fins).

I believe all early C4's used 16" rims, and then later 17" rims due to brake caliper clearance. Have you tried your stock 15" rims on the C4 hubs with the calipers in place?

On the '96 front I use 11.75" Wilwood two-piece rotors to get the right offset to clear the steering knuckle and to also fit Wilwood calipers under the 15" wheels. Again, this took a custom bracket to mount the calipers.
Everything fits, and it looks stock to the casual eye.
