On it's way to California
Bright and early today the car carrier showed up to transport my 64 that I sold. It felt weird driving it to meet the trailer, it was 80' long and I live on a narrow street, in the snow. It was probably the first time the car has seen snow in over 40 years!
The driver could not drive a stick so I had to drive up the ramp to the middle of the trailer, it was kinda scary.
So now I am on the hunt for a midyear coupe to fill the spot.

A sad day, I dread the day I have to sell my '64 L76 'vert, I am resisting as long as I can, but know someday t needs to go to a good home. Good luck on your search.

The driver of the car transporter couldn't drive a stick??? Boy what is this world getting to??????
I have a stick in my 65 Vette, 72 Porsche, 93 Classic Mini, 2004 Dodge Dakota but my 98 Winnebago motor home does have and automatic.

Holy crap, a car transport driver can't dive a stick. Thats a suit waiting to happen, a customer having to drive his car onto the truck. Unreal. That can be a very tricky thing I would assume.

I saw that car for sale and I would have chased it if I were looking. I normally don't like body mods but that rear looked great on that car.
I just sold my '65 Impala SS with a 4-speed and I had to drive it on the truck also. The driver didn't drive standard. He was from Russia which I hear many car hauler drivers are also. Was your driver?

Thanks Frank,
That was one of the nicest riding C2's I have ever rode in. It is going to a shop in California and turned into a silver resto rod.

I knew from the beginning that it wasn't a keeper.
I have a line on a big block coupe that has no body mods. I did well on the sale and as they say "you have to strike while the iron is hot".
I will keep you informed, I hope I get an early Christmas gift.

64's Rock!
This car was a buying opportunity when my customer said he wanted to sell it. I made him a low ball offer, under 20K, and he accepted it. I had the top of the car repainted and did the mechanicals to make it safe to drive.
I knew from the beginning that it wasn't a keeper.

I just noticed you has a little 'ducktail' on your car. I have one too, I like it even though others don't.
Back in the 70's when my boss and I got into SCCA with his Vette, he bought a cab over Freightliner with a 45' trailer. His son and I learned to drive the 16 speed and we took the car to the track in style.
My ex-brother-in-law drove long haul for years. Met him at a local truck stop for lunch on one of his trips. This was about three years ago and lo and bohold, he has an automatic in his semi !!!!!!!!!
