Default C2 Front Brake Cable Installation

I'm attempting to install a new front brake cable, my cable broke. One end has a larger bead (ball) on the cable, than the other end. I am trying to figure out which end goes to the brake handle in the car and which end goes to the lever underneath the car? No instructions were provided with the new cable, and I'm not sure that the cable I'm replacing was installed correctly. Thank you!

Let's start with getting a year for your car. Not all C2 cars are created equal.

Is it 1965??

From what I can remember ( on my 1966 cable) it was small ball on the pull rod in the car and large ball on the lever under the car. Suggest a trial fitting prior to running the cable into finial position to make sure the two menchioned cable ball receivers “accept” it’s cable ball easily and with a snug fit. Installation may be different on other year cars than mine but the trial fitting should prove the correct application.

I think I got it. The small ball goes up top and large below. Mine before was installed incorrectly it appears, and my have helped lead to failure. Now I'm having trouble reinstalling the Park Brake Handle Spring & Pawls. Is there a trick to that? Does the spring arm go in front of or behind each pawl?
