Pat, looking good! You are flying through this project. Is the body paint going to be the long pole in the tent?

LOL!

Thanks Bud, I did go with the Super T-10, along with the 400 output shaft. I do have the original T-10, but I tore out second gear so fast in my '62, I thought I would go ahead with a stronger unit right from the start in the '63. The numbers matching unit, along with the original shifter, will remain on my shelf.

Nothing like bang'n a good second gear------well, right up until the big crunch. One more thing, did you go with the shorter driveshaft too? I've read the big output shaft Muncie and T-10's are a little longer.

Thanks for the info Pat!---And fingers crossed for you and those up and your area.

Hey Shannon,

The Super T-10's are a bit longer. I went ahead and had my driveshaft shortened by 3/4". I now wish I hadn't as I think they actually went a little more, and the driveshaft is shorter than I wish it to be.

I'm still considering replacing the driveshaft with a longer one.

Also, so far we have escaped serious fire in our immediate area. Very sad for those a bit to the north west of us.

Take care,

Pat

Big milestone today!

Had some friends come by and we made short order of placing the body back onto the frame!

Great to have these guys help!

Pat

Wonderful stage to be at ..... congrats, Pat!
You say "friends," but we all know these are your merry band of employees who live in a barracks beside your garage and respond to your every beck and call for assistance, and who are usually kept hidden! How else could your project have progressed so fast? It's the only explanation that makes sense.

That's great. It's like an old fashioned barn raising.

That one young fella looks like he could have lifted it all by himself!

Congrats.

Lots of small fiberglass repairs on the doors.

Do these pop rivets located at the top of each door, have anything to do with holding the weatherstrpping in?

Yes, but as you can see I have a bit of work to do on mine. Those two are actually embedded in the weatherstripping and the larger of the other three holes is for the brace screw.

By the way, I’m very close to locating an unloved ‘64 coupe for my wide flare project.

Keep up the great work!

Pat,

I think it's just glue in that area and the pop rivets are just glued over and covered by the rubber.

can't wait to see your '64 with the flares. I love to see them lowered with wide flares, and 10" Americans on them.

This '63 is going back to almost 100% original, simply due to the fact that most all parts on the car were original.

Another step getting the deck lid ready. First prime. Will sand, second prime, block, and then start fitting to the body.
