nah... that's right up there with using 22 bullets, aluminum foil around a blown fuse, and pennies behind household fuses... (although I think the 22 bullet should go to the top...(Snopes says it's urban legend tho))

Those 10-32 screws are a bit small but I've never blown out a 1/4-28 Allan cap screw. Get 2 more Allen caps and your golden.

Looks like the rust deposits on the exterior of the fuse glass might be conductive all by itself......

Those aren't rust deposits, that's soot from the smoldering wiring...
