Every time I see a '58 with trunk irons I'm reminded of a guy who told me the reason they stopped installing them was because the danger they are to the driver and passenger in a rear end collision. I guess it bothered me because back in the mid 1970's I daily drove a 1960 Corvette to school and back, and a lady in an Old's 88 rear ended me one night at Colima and Whittier Blvd while I was waiting to make a left turn. Her great big bumper went 1/3 up my trunk lid without breaking the trunk lid. I imagined the studs and nuts on a set of spears shearing and the spear rotating through the back of my neck.
I'm just curious what kind of brake master cylinder set up you have on the '58? Not having a brake booster or master cylinder on the firewall above the steering column looks really clean.

Those are two really stunning examples of what can be done with imagination and $$$. Yet, they still outwardly are very recognizable for the underlying cars they are. GLWS!

Will be watching for both of these cars to go across the block.
I simply couldn't do it without a reserve, but these cars will most definitely draw a "ton" of interested from those who can afford it!
Good luck with the sale(s)!

I noticed there are no stops or anything for the hood on the 58, which if you don't know by now is to me one of the most beautiful cars I've seen. I want to do this on mine. Are you just using the actuator to locate the hood when closed or is there something I'm not seeing? I will be driving mine did you notice any buffeting of the hood.

We also made custom hood hinges that open the up instead of pivoting, to allow the intake air to go directly from the inter cooler, to the throttle body.

Thanks! I hope your right, had not planned on selling the ‘58, but the ‘57 didn’t get finished and really didn’t need two.
I’ll post pics of the luggage, we had custom luggage built to fit the trunk and upholstered to match the interior with red leather and a couple leather straps to hold everything in place.

Our interior guy that did the rest of the interior is building them, can’t wait to show off the finished products. Having 3 pieces made, wrapped to match and leather straps. Not sure about the cost yet, having a set made for the ‘57 as well.

Sounds like the custom-fitted Schedoni glove leather luggage that's optional on Ferraris; I had a set made for my 1973 Daytona Spyder back in '75 for about $3,000.00, and these days USED Schedoni Ferrari luggage goes for north of $16,000.00 - don't know what the price is now for a NEW set.

Well my transport bailed on me a couple days ago, so looks like I’ll be buying a 48’ enclosed trailer and delivering the 2 Vettes myself. Not looking forward to the 1,500 mile trek to Scottsdale, hope the weather is good.
The silver lining is I’ll have a free ride home for 2 cars if I find something I can’t live without.

I go as a spectator every year since about 2006 (live 3 hours southeast)...it sure has grown a lot...it too is entertainment and a perspective on pop culture...but I like it...I will go by to see your cars and give you a "thumbs up"...they are great looking Corvettes.
