They can mix you up something as small as a piint. A lot of places can even load it in an aerosol can to spray touch up a larger area.
Yes, but if you do that you will want them to put hardener in and then you have to use it relatively quick.

I've been wanting a Sebring Silver SWC for a long time, years. Just couldn't find one that I could afford that was in decent shape. Finally, I located one on "Show Your Auto". It was located in Chicago. So, last month, maybe a little longer, I fly into ORD and Patrick Krook, owner of SYA, picks me up at the airport and takes me to his warehouse. I love the SWC and buy it. After dinner with Pat, I jump in the car and drive 28 hours and 1710 miles back to my home in southern Utah ( I have another home in Lost Wages). The car drives wonderfully, absolutely no issues.

So now, I'm in Las Vegas going to the Saturday morning "Cars and Coffee" on Eastern, when a Corvette friend tells me of an estate sale L72. He doesn't have the money to buy it (I really don't either) but go take a look at the car. I end up making the guy an offer on the car, it's just that nice. To my surprise, he accepts.

Now, I have to draw out funds from our retirement account. My lovely wife of 44 years is not overjoyed!. (Always conform to the old adage, "Happy wife, happy life"). So, I think I will just sell the car. Doesn't happen but my wife has fallen in love with the Nassau Blue color. So, the retirement account is down; but, fortunately, the stock market has treated us really well this past year. So, we look at our portfolio and realize that even with the purchase of the two cars, WE'RE STILL AHEAD! Thanks President Trump! I get the car of my dreams, a pretty nice L72 to boot, a happy wife and more money than I had when this all began.

True story.
I'm a sucker for stories with a happy ending. A Sting Ray for you, and a Sting Ray for the wife.

This won't work for everyone, for any number of reasons, but it did for me. I purchased a small spray can of Testors model paint. It matched my Honduras Maroon better than any other option I tried. The hardcore "modelers" have driven Testors to develop GM certified classic paint colors. It worked really well, when I was careful, for small door pecks and small scratches. (Use toothpick or other appropriate tool)

I found mine at Michael's, I believe or Hobby Lobby. I'm sure Amazon probably can fix you up. May not be satisfactory, but it's an inexpensive possibility.

I'm not sure that returning it to a more original condition will do anything to improve its drivability and it will never be a #1 or #2 condition car without putting in more $$$ that I can afford.

Drive it and enjoy it while I still can.
Don't know how you can say "enjoyment" after 1700 miles. I drove my '66 NCRS coupe on an 800 mile round trip this summer, and it nearly beat me to death. Just can't compare the ride to today's suspensions and rides that they give. Put mine into the "local driving" category.

You know William, come to think about it, maybe I should not have used or suggested enjoyment as describing the trip! Of course, I was really excited with my new car and the adrenalin was flowing. I did need to use ear plugs because of the noise coming from the side pipes. I hit a white out snowstorm in the Laramie area of Wyoming which heightened the experience-- 4" wide tires, no ER flasher, ice on the roads, 18 wheelers passing me at 75 mph---great heater though. Still, looking back, for my first trip in my car, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I was HAPPY to arrive home in one piece. Maybe a little more gray hair!

I was wondering how the ear thing worked for you. I have tinnitus and it would have drove me crazy. Took a lot of nerve to drive 1700 miles in an old car you knew nothing about, except what the sales person told you. I don't know if I would of trusted my new Toyota that far.

Yes, I read you loud and clear. My whole family was pretty upset at me for pulling such a stunt!

I did have "roadside tow service" just in case--haha!

I'm not a really big guy--5"10" and 175 lbs. so getting behind the steering wheel does not present a problem. Plenty of headroom too. I have no power steering;but, IMO, with a small block, the SWC is still fairly easy to maneuver at low speeds. Once you're moving, there are no steering issues!
