The 3 types of classic car buyers

Yup! Those kinds of cars and a Firebird Trans Am SD 455 were everyday drivers for my rich kid buddies during college 1967 - 71. Me ? It was a 63 Falcon Sprint with a 289 built out to 331 as a HiPo wanna be. Not the most glamorous car on campus, but a good “sleeper” and quick enough to surprise a few folks up to 60/70 mph or so!

I don't see the point in getting bummed out about negative or any predictions for that matter about the future considering the fact that they are ALWAYS wrong.
Remember the Japanese were going to buy the U.S. with never ending real estate sales with our money. I remember talk about them buying California, wonder if they still want it.
Remember the ice age was coming. Bird-less spring seasons, the population bomb and we all should be starving to death by now.
Don't be fooled by this crap, decent and not so decent model T's still find buyers.

Melting Slicks
The Mecum guys have diarrhea of the mouth. I've got a category for them: it's called "I don't like you".
You get to be in this category when you make attempts to generalize and catagorize other people. No two people are the same and these guys are full of crap.

I have been saying this for several years now, when my bag of bones wears out my 65 will be worth dimes on the dollar of what I have in it and I could care less. Run it through a car crusher for all I care, same goes for all my garage tools and equipment which will be just a bunch of old ****.

Those clowns are the 10% 'ers!
I'm not leaving any of my stuff to my kids.
#1 son could be interested but he can't seem to take care of anything. Never did. He has the tools but if he wants something, bid on it at the sale.
#1 daughter doesn't have any attachment to my stuff. Husband is a high roller dentist and doesn't do "used" stuff.
#2 daughter would be thrilled to have one or the other but she has to start the leaf blower or string trimmer for her husband drug (legal) salesman. His daddy bought him a new Corvette when he graduated college about ten years ago. He never drives it.
So, it all goes in the sale. I don't care what they get for it. Won't make my departure from here any different one way or the other.
I don't worry about it, Just don't want to live to see my modest car, parts and tool collection thrown out for the junk man.

In 15 to 20 years, most of us here will be gone. Since I can't take my car with me (I checked into that and, apparently, it can't be done), I don't really give a rat's behind what happens to it's value, its desireability, or anything else about it.
Enjoy them while you can in the present. Forget about "someday in the future".

I applaud younger folks in the hobby.
But, they will never know what it was like sitting at a stop light in the 60s in a Camaro SS and looking over to see a Superbird in the next lane, a hemi-Cuda behind you and a Shelby GT-500 KR going the other way coming home from high school.

I am sure they are taking cheap shots at me from page one of this thread. And that’s ok. While we continues to ask a bunch of questions I will be sure not to help. As I may not own a corvette but I have about 20 years on working on 67 cars to top flight status This ain’t my debut at this sort of thing. And don’t worry I have driven a few cars too.
