Here is a photo of mine.. I'm sorry, but I don't remember how it attached..
My best recollection was that the top part stuck into something, and there were plastic pins along the length.
The weatherstrip was one of the first things I did on my car.. it's been over 4 years now (where has the time gone)!
Hopefully someone will know for sure.

Instructor
You use a combination of glue and weather strip clips that use screws to attach to the door post. If you have an ST 12 there are diagrams to show where these go. There are also several previous threads to give you a better idea of the process. If you don't plan on judging you can probably just slide the top clip behind the window channel insert where it screws in and glue the rest of the weather strip on the window post.
