Nice collections, I wonder what the reason is he selling them all.

From Nowhere Man's link above...
Richard Cohen founder of LI Corvette Supply passed away in Jan 2017.
He has been retired for a few years and the business will continue on, but some of the cars will be sold.

Sadly they will be bought and put in a private collection never to be seen again until that owner dies or gets tired of it.
It would be interesting if these cars would go thought the judging system again and see how they score. Since it’s been 28 years since it was done.

I find the N03 option curious. Most performance options, like fuel injection, big brakes, etc, actually were known to help performance, but the big tank was a failure from both a reliability perspective (they leaked), and performance perspective (the fuel distribution hurt the car's handling). Racers by and large either hated it or replaced it. Most failures end up in the dustbin of history, these seem to be celebrated. Rarity aside, I wonder why.

I can't speak for all people who own cars like this, but I drive my tankers frequently (all wear Torq-Thrust Ds with radial tires when not being judged), and since I bought them, as none had ever been judged before, I have been taking all of them through NCRS judging so people can see these rare beasts. In researching and talking to the original owners of my tankers, they usually checked that N03 box, and others (FI, J56, TI, leather, etc.), because they wanted an unusual car no one else had. Only one of mine was ordered for racing and she (yes, a lady racer) started in SCCA and moved to competitive rallies, where the tank along with a 3.08 rear end ratio, was a definite advantage.

Wow is all. Great cars. Besides the crazy rarity of options, the condition and color combos.
