I'm replacing the fuel filler neck boot with a new repop one on my 65 roadster. I installed the nipple and the overflow hose off the car. I thought it would be easier to do that when it's off rather than on. I fished the hose between the body and tank, but when I try to fit the boot over the filler neck, the nipple keeps pulling through the boot.

The nipple seems pretty loose. I used the one that came off the old boot since I didn't see anything wrong with it. Has anyone had that problem? Should I buy a new nipple? Doesn't seem like that will fix it, but who knows!
