Question on auction lineup
Do these auctions do some sort of triage where the crappy cars get the Monday, Tuesday slots and super crisp clean perfect cars get Saturday, with everything else in between?
HOW do they choose, does the buyer send detailed pics and description to BJ and then BJ decides?
There must be some way they separate the scum from the cream, other than one 1969 Chevelle SS goes Tueday and another 69 Chevelle SS is picked to go on Friday night by lottery.
And,
How much does auction fever play a role?
Say car X sells for $20K on Tuesday morning, would car X sell for upawrds of $80K Saturday afternoon after everybody is all hyped up from week of auction?

Talked to a BJ employee at a car show this summer. He said BJ picks the schedule for your car. Obviously the quality and price improves each day. If you do not like your auction spot you can withdraw. Mecum, however, you can pay for a better auction slot. Most BJ cars are no reserve unlike Mecum
He said if you buy the 9 day auction pass it includes 10 free drinks per day!

When your there you can feel the excitement in the room. As the week goes on it escalates. You can also sense when the money leaves the room and prices get way lower. The cars I've consigned were nice. I told them they were sat caliber cars and based on my pics they placed one on sat in Vegas and one on Fri at Scottsdale. So you can request when car goes through but you better be able to back it up. In my opinion Fri at Scottsdale is as good as any Saturday spot anywhere else.
