I'll just leave it at this - this "great deal" has a bad smell to it. Make that several bad smells to it.
At least one of those odors smells like a sucker deal.
Another of those odors is the smell that someone knows more about this car than they're willing to admit - one wonders why?
Another bad odor is a supposed holy grail I think the term was for a car with far too little hard data and a premium price.
No, I'm pretty sure someone is out there trying to turn a sucker.
Wonder who it is?

I predict the car will not reach reserve, but will sell after the auction is over for close to the BIN price.

If I were selling a car, I wouldn't limit the days that buyers could look at it. Neat car, IMO. But the powerglide kills it for most potential buyers. If it were a 4 speed car, it would have been sold by now.

that is where your wrong. what kills it is the lack of a good ad. the person who buys a car like this is looking for low production numbers and rarity. you can't get much lower in numbers then a 427/390 auto with AC

Bingo. Lack of a good ad works in the bidders favor. A better ad would generate more action, no doubt. The options you mentioned, plus being a convertible, should make it super rare and desirable as a boulevard cruiser.

Rare does not necessarily mean desirable. I would not consider and auto trans and I had a 65 Corvette with one. Bought it for my wife otherwise never would have happened.

All due respect, like hell I'm wrong. If it were a base model small block loaded cruiser Corvette, that would be just fine. But to order a high performance big block car with a lame 2 speed automatic is a huge problem. Totally out of context with the nature of the car, which is supposed to be all about rip-snorting performance. As for the poor ad, I've made some killer purchases over the years by responding to poor quality ads that others ignored or skimmed over. Often, a poor quality ad leaves out details and goodies that are later discovered by those who investigate further.....and reap the rewards.

The car is still there, now priced at $95k and going nowhere fast.
I've spoken to the seller. Nice guy, not a Vette expert. Car went from granddad to dad who parked it 10 years ago, now part of the estate. Major sticking point is seller resides in Tahoe while car's in storage in Lodi. I suspect the car will run with a shot of sure start and some priming. Wish I had 90k to play with, I'd be singing that CCR song for sure

Hold back a couple of bucks to get that temp gauge pointing in the right direction.

Good original paint Corvettes are really rare.
I think it's a neat car for someone who wants to keep it. It's almost full-pimp: 390hp 427, a.c., powerful windows, powerful brakes, powerful steering, TI, speed minder, 3.08 posi, tint, leather, dealer vinyl hard top, and dealer wheels. Just no tele or 400hp conversion. A mechanic's nightmare and kind of a chick car, but hey... still neat.
If you just want it for resale, not so much. Few are shopping for factory automatics, even after they've been converted to 4-speeds. I know.
