The seller has gotten a little more realistic on the price - from $120K down to $95K. I still think it's high for a non-running car, especially when he won't produce pics of the engine pad. It makes me suspicious because I think most sellers would do everything possible to maximize the sale price.
IF it has five original bolt-ons, it should increase the appeal. The seller could also drop the spare and take a pic of the inside of the wheel.

the first time it was listed on EBay the seller started off at 120K. it has been since relisted a couple times now at a lower price of 95K . but there is still a bunch of unknowns about the car and all question the price

I really like the look of that car, and it could be a great find. Seller is not doing himself any favors with the sparse description and lack of detailed photos.
Selling a $90K car sight unseen isn't difficult, per se, but it's almost impossible when it's a 50 year old car that doesn't run and has such limited information supplied.

Car is 100 miles from me, and Lodi is as dry as it gets. Car looks to be a very solid, unmolested car. Like I said earlier, the 2 speed auto really hurts it, IMO. I would LOVE to take a look at this car, though, if I had the time. Is 90k a realistic price if the engine numbers check out? I love the color combo and options............

The auto behind the L36 is a great combo plenty of power to get off the line in first gear and shifts smoothly into second and keeps on pulling.

Thanks for the complement and confidence, Supreme, but I am FAR from a C2 expert. I know cars, though, and how to check the condition overall....but I couldn't tell you if it had the right alternator or master cylinder off the top of my head. If I were to look at it (and I may, as I have business in Sacramento in the next 2 weeks and go right through Lodi), I would get the engine number, casting number, and inspect the birdcage, frame, and any other numbers I could find on the car. To me, I have a gut feeling it is the real deal, just a bit neglected. It appears well-stored, though, and as I said, Lodi is a dry place. I've dealt with car out here in the valley that sat for 20 or more years (the record was a model T that had sat for 55 years), and all of them fired up and had virtually zero moisture damage. The '61 I bought in 15 was the same type of deal: a non-restored car left in an airplane hangar for over 20 years with a non-running engine. I was driving it around inside of a month. The dry climate and no exposure to sunshine left the interior, paint, and chrome undamaged, and it a rust free car with zero pitting on the underside chassis anywhere.

Three things to check
Is that really all-original paint? It's not the pale yellow color I remember from 1967. This would be a deal-breaker for me at $90,000.
Does the engine block have a good original stamping with VIN? A whole lot can and did happen to big-blocks during the sixties. Almost all of it was bad. Another potential deal-breaker.
Does the car have five GM aluminum wheels? They don't look like repros, but they're not typed on the car shipper as a factory option. This just affects the car's value to me... but by a whole bunch.
Those are the main things I'm concerned about at this point. I can believe the rest of his description. While it's not the way I'd sell a car, he evidently doesn't intend to put any more info in his ad.

Another thing I just noticed: the add says it was bought in Maryland and in California a year later....which would be 1968 or 69. It has a blue and yellow 1970-71 CA license plate on it...which means the '68-'69 black plate was discarded shortly after import to CA, or never issued, because the car actually came to CA when it was 3-4 years old. That could make a difference on how the frame and undercarriage look.

About a million years ago I read someplace that bb/pg/ac cars (the few that there were) had the front license plate moved to the drivers side of the grill for better cooling. BS or is there something to that?

That is true although I don't know if it was introduced from the beginning of the model year or later.

That's an excellent point.

In the seller's shoes I would address the questions raised in this thread and not force a potential buyer to wonder. Maybe $90,000 is chump change to the seller, but not to me.
I'm going to pass on this one. It might be a $90,000 '67 as-is. But it could also be $60,000 car that would never be worth $90,000. I'm not that much of a gambler, and I'm unwilling to spend hundreds to acquire information the seller should have furnished from the get-go.

An ugly chassis with rust pitting would really be a hit in his price range.
