With our Lucy, it's like having a toddler in the house. She recognizes many words that we have to spell to keep her from reacting. I can't even say "Scotch" as in whiskey, since she'll jump up and search the house for our son Scott, her best play buddy.
We can't go to the coat closet without her thinking it's time to go for a ride/to the beach, etc., can't grab our car keys/wallets/wife's purse without the same.
She knows at least 2 dozen commands, and knows all of her favorite toys by name.
Our Cali REALLY understands more than we know. If I say "you want to go for a walk", she goes nuts. So, we started spelling "walk". Guess what. Cali's ears went up, she ***** her head, tail waggin', she goes nuts.

Rocket may seem a bit nervous in this photo, as I have run with him as far as 8 miles he prefers to be moving, he finished first dog in a local 5K. The license plate has got me into a little bit of trouble over the years but never any serious trouble.
This is Mila who was rescued by my daughter while at college. She's 80# and WILL protect people and property. Dennis
Based on the original photo it seems as though Mila may have been featured in the old 1960's "Batman" TV series, climbing up the side of the building to the archvillian's secret lair.
