The car has factory under car exhaust and is pretty quite.
Corvette Central has a lot of option. Just don't know which way to go.

If you want something simple to plug your phone into, you can use a JL Audio CL-RLC in line preamp with a remote amplifier with two speakers and install everything on a board that would cover the storage wells. Of course there are a bunch of ways to incorporate a stereo. There are a few examples that I can recall over the years if you use Search function. I made up fiberglass kick panels and installed 6" speakers in those with a 10" sub in one storage well, amp in the other that is driven off of a phone or itouch, and kept my stock radio and speaker if I feel nostalgic.

With the loss of restorers of major components to original condition I've moved on to conversions. Rubeck is out of the radio biz, Pirkle Jr. is out of the voltage regulator biz. There are others I'm sure that do the work but thee are "the guys".
To wit, solid state inside my original radio and voltage regulator case(s). Gary Tayman out of Florida will gut your radio, put in a modern Bluetooth, voice activated Aurora solid state board and the rig will pass judging. From there you can do whatever....play songs off your phone pumped out the radio to an amp with bling speakers or whatever.
I just use the Eckler's 140W dual voice coil speaker for $41. 6x9 and fits in the dash easily with the radio conversion and Pandora. A nice, serviceable, original-looking setup that doesn't look like some gangsta, rice-A-roni BS...

I didn't want to disturb the originality of my radio/speaker so I bought a blue tooth speaker and use my table for my tunes.

take a look at custom auto sound they have everything to a hidden set up to factory looking radios direct fit no cutting required, as well as Kick panel speakers, again no alterations needed.

I've had 5 of them in various cars at various times. Early on, the quality was spotty, they've gotten better. Other than being pricey, they are the only repro radio that even comes close to an original look.

Impossible to find stations, one min a station is there, next min it's GONE and I don't mean some far away distant station, LOCAL station...
Maybe this explains it better, You listen to a local station, Listen to it for half an hour. Turn the car off to get gas or a coffee, whatever. Turn the car on and the station is GONE, Fudge the tuner back and forth and it's still gone, fudge it back and forth maybe ten times and bang, it's back. Set the presets for all the local stations, hit the buttons, some times the stations are there, most often they are not. They don't 'fade in and out, they disappear.
Bizarrely frustrating. I've sent it back and they tell me its perfect. UGH.
Best this is the AUX cable works so I can listen to my own stuff off my phone.
It has Bluetooth but I could never figure it out....
I hear good reports on having a factory radio upgraded and since I still have my original, I may send it out to be done.

I sent my original to a rebuilder in North Carolina. It works fine. There are Bluetooth options if you want that. I've mentioned the restorer in previous posts-do a search or PM me.
