Default Backplate for heat exchanger box

Hi

I'm renovating my heat exchanger box and noticed that the part of the back plate that has the fastener that goes above the gas pedal is bent. Is this the way it should be, or should I straighten it? My car is at another location so I cannot check for myself.

What you have is correct. DO NOT bend it. Dennis

Maybe it's an optical illusion, but it seems to have more angle than mine.

Looking at your picture, it doesn't seem to have the same bend in the actual back plate (which was what I was talking about) I wonder if you have misunderstood me?

If you look at my picture, it's the plate that is horizontal. Not the bracket that is fastened to it that I'm worried about.
