Here are a couple of data points for you – on the high end, Precision Corvette Steering Columns has a totally refurbished one for $3,200. There was one needing some work listed on the Forum’s parts listings for $1,400 last fall. Depending on condition, you might find one in the low $1K range but nice ones are a little pricey.
You can have a standard column refurbished for $175 plus parts.

What year? Asking prices for restored 65-66 tele's seem to be in the $1800-$2200 range, $2500-$3000 for 67's. $600-$1000 less for ones needing to be rebuilt/restored. 68 tele's sell for about the same as 65-66's, because they can be converted to 67's.

The 65 I just bought has one. I have had them in the past and never used them. Once I get the car I will see if anything has changed and if not I may sell it and replace with a standard column so I wanted to see what the current value is.

Just leave it be. You don’t have to move it.

I was at Bloomington, (first time) in the late '70's. Sold a '65-'66 tilt column for $125 and thought I'd made out like a bandit. Which I did!

I'm not sure of the particulars but a '65-'66 telescopic column's value is severely decreased if it does not come equipped with all of the specific brackets that a tele column requires. Nice complete tele columns with the correct bracketry sell from $1,300 to $1,800. Standard columns needing a cosmetic restoration sell from $400 to $600.
