That's a nice setup and while I'd love to have it on my 406, not for the better part of two grand! And not sure that would even fit under a big block hood!

Barry Grant had a set up like this also (his own manifold and carbs)!

I have an article on a J-56 disc brake Camaro with a Hemi headed small block and I think that showed the heads and intake! Wish I knew were that was, to see if round or square!
Is the J-56, Hemi head Z/28 you were thinking about?

I am trying to remember, but one is Silver and another is Yellow. I think there is one more running around! I would have to dig out notes or search the internet! I think the Silver one is J-56 (or JL-8), and not sure about the others!

I just looked and those Rick guys got the Silver one and put it thru a whole restoration. The yellow one shows up! And will have to spend more time looking later!

I got busy busy this weekend and didn't crack any of the books on these subjects yet!

congratulations... hope it works well on your engine

did it supposedly require any cam/compression/timing modifications in order to develop its potential; or, back in the day, did it just turn out to be eye candy?

Clifton81,

Welcome!

Very cool!

Like Bill, I too would like to know how the driveability with this setup is. More pics of your car AND the build of your small block would really be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Jim

The manifold is real, with the Winters snowflake.

Under the front fuel bowl should be a GM part number with a "-0" suffix (or prefix, CRS kicking in).

It was not a factory installed option, so value added to the car is questionable unless there is receipts of documented installation by a dealer or backdoor shop authorized by GM. It is however a nice addition to the engine bay, and will cost well over $1,200 to duplicate with similar carbs on the Edelbrock clone. To a GM collector the set could be worth twice that value, or more (but not $10,000, they did not add that much in performance).

Buyers set the market, but the value is the manifold and carbs, not a unique car (unless you have documentation).

Did you pitch an offer to buy the car?

I can easily believe that someone would buy the car just to get the Tri-power setup. Since the air cleaner is a one of a kind, that's GOT TO bring big $$$$$.

yes, but if you only have the 'one-of-a-kind' air cleaner all you have is wall art...
