Default water pump rebuild

Can anyone recommend someone in the Charlotte, NC area to rebuild my water pump? I really don't want to ship it off to someone and don't want to purchase a replacement. Thanks.

Can't help with your question, but if you have a shop press you can do it.

If you decide to box it up and ship it, send it to Bill Mock. He's the best there is for water pumps. (918) 214-5206‬

Best,
Dave

Thanks for phone number. Still need to determine if it is to have date or not. I will call him tomorrow. Thanks.

It looks easy to do, but no shop press available.

X2 Bill Mock in OK is the water pump 'guy'. It is sort of a big deal to rebuild as some (all?) of the vendor kits have an issue. Rich Mozetta rebuilt my commonplace '608' pump and ran into the issue...

I'm not gonna search for his post about it as I don't know if it was here or the NCRS site.

It's an easy task to do it yourself. Buy a quality rebuild kit that has a cast impeller. The cheap kits come with a stamped tin one and should be avoided.

I don't recommend too many people but this is one of them.

This is the guy to go to. He's in the Phoenix area.

He used to make Old Town every year. Don't know about now at the airport. Quality parts and work. I think he's buddy's with Desert Pilgrim here? He even sells parts to rebuild your own.

Keep in mind you cannot use original cast impellers or fan hubs with the new kits...

Don't plan on it. Bought the entire kit with the cast iron impeller. Thanks.

John Meissinger sells quality kits. He has them on E-Bay or you can contact him through this forum.

Go to eBay and do a search. You will find John Meissinger's listing (thanks 1snake) and this one eBay item number:232652262186. Not much difference, but one was a few bucks cheaper.

I believe the supplier of the kit I bought also rebuilds w/p, etc. Hart Bros Core Company

I don't know about you guys, but i want to raid Roy's garage stash! He has one of every rare part imaginable. Glad he is on this forum. I am sure he is missed on the "other" board too. I know I miss his knowledge. He is one of the few that can actually support what he says with documentation, etc. Thanks Roy!
