Willcox New Part Announcement, Hood Alignment Tool
We originally made this tool for the 1968-1976 cars... but today we gave it a go on my 62 hood, and we also tested it on a 65 and a 66... It works like a champ... and is now available.
I've not done the instruction sheets for the 60-62 or the 63-67 hoods but it's pretty simple... and I'll get something up soon... But this thing makes adjusting the hood so simple and oddly enough, I made one for the c3 cars years ago... but I never tried it on the c1 or c2 cars... Why... I have no idea...
So... Some simple instructions would mean you put the tool in the female portion of the lock.. loosen the retaining nuts/bolts to where the male lock will barely move. Then lower the hood, wiggle a bit and the tool will center the male stud and lock in orientation with the female lock... Once this is accomplished tighten the male lock nuts/bolts and you should be set.
A quick test of this tool is to lower the hood and gently push downward on the area where the male lock is located... It should feel springy with no resistance (no rubbing). If you feel the resistance, then re-adjust with the tool again before you attempt to close the hood.
So here is the link on our site to this tool.. It makes this alignment job so easy it's almost comical, dealer inquiry's are welcome

If you uploaded the 1960-1967 instructions for this tool... can them and re-load. We did a 66 today and modified the instructions.
