So where do you draw the line? This is a pretty clear definition from our carrier, and in the interest of protecting our customers we will continue to ask.
These are the basic guidelines we live with:
Modification Level
None/Minimal - a vehicle with only minor changes such as radio upgrades, lower cost custom interior, or a dressed engine bay.
Modified - upgrade of the engine beyond what was originally available, overall modification of multiple major components of the vehicle, or custom paint job with multiple colors.
Highly Modified - Significant modifications to the vehicle. Examples would include a pro-street vehicle or significantly modified show vehicle.
Yes, on modified vehicles we get an interior and engine photo. In the end, it is better protection for our customers.

Yes, you are correct, Patrick. If the car came with a 327/300 and you put in a 327/375 we will still rate it as None/Minimal. If it had a 327/300 and you put in a 383/383 then it is modified.

Interesting. So what if it was originally a 327/350 and is now a ZZ4 350/355 ? Modern technology, aluminum heads, SAE net hp vs old school SAE gross etc. Hypothetically speaking, of course.....

I would drop Hagerty in a heartbeat and insure with somebody who wants your business.

This would be modified. The 327/375 I referenced was a period correct or optional motor for 1965.

Tuxnharley, in reference to your statement "it's unfair to penalize the majority for the few", This is exactly what the Democrats are trying to do with their gun control measures. I know this is off the topic, but this is the new wave of the future.
