I think in '80 Keith already knew the part numbers for every small-block Chevy intake produced and was grumbling about modified distributors...despite not being born.

First of all, I want to thank all of you that were serving our country in '66.
Myself, a junior at Chardon HS, Chardon, Ohio driving my dad's '56 three on the tree, but only to work.

My parents got married in 1980 I didn’t come until four years later. My parents were both 12 in 66. And Jason I didn’t really start memorizing parts until the end of high school. That’s when I really gained interest in old cars. My English classes required you to read books. So I read car books while everyone else was reading teanage novels. .

I talked to him from about 4 feet away (not close enough for an autograph), he stayed out of the sunlight under the shade of the tent for some reason, looked very pale and kept looking at a throbbing vein in my neck; his teeth were funny looking too

Assuming summer of 1966 (ad looks like summer) I was 11 years old and between 5th and 6th grades.
I strongly recall the 1966 Indy 500, listened to the entire race.
Which means I had probably caught Corvette fever by that time ...
(Actually, I KNOW I had, because I also strongly recall a neighbors white 62 ... )

I'd like to thank all for your service to our country over the years!!
In 1966 I was in Junior High in Dayton, Ohio area and didn't know anyone with a Corvette. I had the Vette bug though from watching Route 66 on TV. Had the car bug by helping my Dad work on cars to turn some bucks for extra cash to help keep the family fed!

I was driving this then -- you have to picture it with the top down and a 9'8" "big gun" Hobie surfboard sticking up about 5' from the passenger seat.

May 1st. 1966 on a Greyhound load with a bunch young boys, headed to Fort Knox, Kentucky. If not mistaken, it was very early on a Monday, and The Momas and Papas were singing their song, Monday Monday pretty regular, still sticks in my head today!

I was in 3rd grade in Dayton Ohio walking to school and spotted the tail end of a C1 corvette peeking out of a neighbor’s open garage door. That got me hooked. There were not many corvettes in east Dayton... Bought my first Vette 33 years later!

Let's see - 1966, I was in Junior High School (8th Grade) and surely drooling over that particular Corvette ad.

A scrawny nerdy kid, graduating from Catholic grade school (8th grade) and delivering papers to make money for my first car...which ended up being a '61 VW Bug purchased three years later. In the pic below I am the tall nerd, third from the left! I am still tall, still a nerd, but not so scrawny!

I was 5, Tijuana Brass was playing on every radio station, and my dad took my brother and I to see the movie Grand Prix. My 7 year old brother walked out after the first bad accident scene and slept in the car, while I toughed it out because I was a car guy. Dad had no idea it would be so graphic, and later regretted it. Also went to Ensenada Mexico in '66 and stayed at a beach house for a week, swimming and collecting shells. It was a friendly, sleepy little town then, totally safe. Great memories. And a big shout of thanks to all the veterans out there....that war went on for so long my brother and I assumed that we were going to fight in it, as well.
