Thanks for the replies! I’m very excited about this car, I’m trying to build something other than the red, silver and black restomods that are being built.
We are building a ‘65 that’s true to its roots, Nassau Blue was the most popular color, they produced over 6,000 of them and the second most produced color was green with 3,700 cars. I just want this car to truly feel like an original with the changes being subtle.
Here are a few things I’ve decided to do on the car...
- 17” Knock-Off reproduction wheels with “gold line” or “red line” tire (undecided)
- Blue “Daytona weave” carpet
- Leather wrapped dash pads (blue)
- New OE Replica stereo with bluetooth
- LS3 with 6 speed auto
- Paddle shifter (twist machines)
- 15” reproduction teak steering wheel with tilt column
- Original white seats and door panels and seat belts
- The chassis is a powder coated hammer tone chassis
- Suspension is Van Steel front and rear with coilovers
- Wilwood 6 piston front 4 piston rear
- Bumpers cut and sectioned, and rechromed
- Installed new ‘65 big block hood
- LS Classic “Fuelie” setup
Here’s the “fuelie” setup, I think it will be very cool, I know some will criticize but I saw this setup in person at Bloomington and got on the phone with Elio with LS Classic, and placed my order for the fuelie setup along with the valve covers and valley cover.

Finally got the Nassau Blue laid down today and it turned out great!
Can’t wait to get it color sanded and buffed, engine bay will get painted satin black next week and then the raptor liner sprayed on the wheel wells and under body.
Engine is on the stand about to get sprayed orange and prepped for the “fuelie” intake.

It looks amazing. The paint is miles deep. I really like the look of the F.I. intake set up. Great choice.

Very cool build. I love your plan ( and the color ).
Just and observation, you may want to check the door hinge plate rivets. From the pics it looks like the top rivet on the passenger door is loose. Much easier to fix it now.
