I consumed a bunch of spare parts that I had laying around. My shelves have some empty spaces now. These cars are very easy to put together, heck the factory was building 70 per day roughly. The biggest challenge is body and paint, that is always the critical path and long lead time. Once you get over that hurdle, it is clear sailing and easy peasy.

Absolutely beautiful Very well done. I'm sure it pulls like a beast and sounds like one too. Very impressive. I'm sure Bob will love getting behind the wheel just like the good old days. Enjoy it.

the road draft tube is the one I got from you. It turned out very nice. Gotta be careful when the car is up on a lift, I have knocked my head on the draft tube many times since it hangs down a bit lower than everything else!!

Jim,
I love your car. That is my favorite Corvette race car paint scheme of all time. We should get these two together and let them play.

Just noticed one teeny, tiny little tidbit detail you might consider changing to make the car that much closer to a perfect L88 ... you have the wrong thermostat housing ... all L88's used the cast iron housing like the 65 L78's with a 1/2" aluminum spacer under it so it will clear the temp sender (I see your intake is not tapped for one). Details, details. Cheers, Bill

I have heard the same, most draft tubes were hacksawed, to be period correct!

Jim, that's an awesome clone you built there. Should be a wild ride! Love the colors.

I kinda took the best of both Lemans cars, number 8 and 9. I wanted red interior, operating headlight buckets, and stock side fender louvers.
Put 60 miles on it this weekend, it was a blast.
