Awesome build and car! How about some engine specs. Power? Where did you get the big Tank? You are going to have fun with this one!

Beautiful car!!! If it is configured like the original, which ran 3.08 or 2.73 gears, it will NOT be a very high performance operator.

Absolutely beautiful Very well done. I'm sure it pulls like a beast and sounds like one too. Very impressive. I'm sure Bob will love getting behind the wheel just like the good old days. Enjoy it.

Elmer,
the road draft tube is the one I got from you. It turned out very nice. Gotta be careful when the car is up on a lift, I have knocked my head on the draft tube many times since it hangs down a bit lower than everything else!!

Jim,

I love your car. That is my favorite Corvette race car paint scheme of all time. We should get these two together and let them play.

Now you are talking Rex! Would love to see and hear those two beasts together. Two of my favorite cars!

Jim, that's an awesome clone you built there. Should be a wild ride! Love the colors.

Just noticed one teeny, tiny little tidbit detail you might consider changing to make the car that much closer to a perfect L88 ... you have the wrong thermostat housing ... all L88's used the cast iron housing like the 65 L78's with a 1/2" aluminum spacer under it so it will clear the temp sender (I see your intake is not tapped for one). Details, details. Cheers, Bill

I have heard the same, most draft tubes were hacksawed, to be period correct!

Well if you are going to be that picky, then he should get the Packard wire set also and like seat harnesses, even thou I think the MSD and stock seat belts are fine, etc.

Yes, I know that, but i am also running the big aluminum Dewitts BB radiator with twin electric fans, instead of the much smaller L88 style radiator. The car runs very cool, amazing how much air those 2 fans move. Of course, it is not hot here yet, only in the 70's and 80's lately.
I kinda took the best of both Lemans cars, number 8 and 9. I wanted red interior, operating headlight buckets, and stock side fender louvers.
Put 60 miles on it this weekend, it was a blast.
