Default 1963 SWC Value Question - Need help from pros

Just looking for some opinions on a deal that I can make through a friend on a 1963 SWC 327/340 car. 2 owner car, Long story short - the car is all original except for the motor (original motor blown up) it has a correct date block and heads. Original heads come with the car and can be repaired. The car was repainted in the early 90's red exterior black interior. It was driven by the second owner at that time and has been parked ever since. I am not looking to keep this - purely going to clean it up and get it running and flip it. I can purchase the car for 40k cash. What are all of your thoughts on what this car is worth cleaned up as a good driver with the current motor? Thanks!

A picture or two would help but I’ll give you 50k for it.

Hopefully going to see it next weekend. My father has seen it in its current condition (he is an NCRS guy and owns a '65) I am the complete opposite LOL. I'll try to get some photos.

If my Father buys it, he will most likely restore it to top flight condition and let it sit in the garage and listen to music all day. If I buy it, clean it up.. my Wife will drive it to a show or two while I drive the other vette and then we will sell it. I just think 40k sounds like a good deal on a SWC.

Yes, a very good deal. Good luck and keep me in mind.

A roached out project split window sold on eBay for $52K just days ago (if you believe the auction was legit). I don't see how you can get hurt on this car at the $40K number, if its even close to what you describe...

As a person looking and watching....if its frame etc is good do it. 40K is great as said above hulks seem to move for that. I would say an easy 20 to 30K more for one cleaned up. Numbers matching drivers are 70 to 80 everywhere so non number matching no doubt 60 min.

I would think if its nice and engine looks period correct 60's maybe pushing 70 if super nice. These 63's climb over time faster than most. Post some pics if u can.

Just go buy it, junk is selling for 40k.

It will be the best deal you will make this year.

If you don't show up with your checkbook this trip and 'step up' if the car checks out then you forfeit the right to complain when the car is sold out from under you....

If some folks here knew where the car is located - you'd have already lost the deal... I had that happen to me...

I'm just sayin'

Yeah, post pictures, but make sure they don't have any embedded location data!

Seriously, though, if the car is mostly intact, this would be a fabulous deal.

If the frame and or the bird cage were toast, I would be careful.

40k for a SWC in anything but junkyard condition is a super deal. Proceed with caution, but don't lag.....if you snooze you loose. I would be all over this, personally.

Something doesn’t add up. If your dad is an NCRS guy and saw a running 63 SWC for $40k, he’d buy it.

Not it sure I buy it
