I like mags, rally wheels, and stock caps. This time, between the two, I vote for the caps.
Not my car, you have to make the call.

Your Corvette appears very stock. I think the Billet Specialty Wheels look current. I prefer current tire technology in larger diameters but IMCO which is worth nothing I think an "old school" style wheel "flows" better. So by default I vote for the hubcaps. Your car is stunning either way. At the end of the day what matters is what you're happy with not my opinion or anyone else's.

Based on Paint scheme colors and interior that gives car a very Class look Vs Flash look, I say your wife is wrong on her choice.
Painted a flashier bright color combination I might agree with her.

I swap wheels around on my car regularly. I've got the "drag look", the old school Cragar look, and the new style 18's/17's look ( 2 different sets of those!). Previously it's had TTII's and gray spoke American's. Even some Rally's made the cut at times.
It's amazing how a simple wheel change can completely change the character.
Your car looks great both ways! Change them depending on the mood!

Personally, I don't care for the style of those particular Billet Specialties wheels, but as a resto-mod, mags or some other type of aftermarket wheel, seems more appropriate.
Right now I think the wide whites and 58 wheel/wheel cover combo looks better, but a different set of mags, might change my mind.
