I had hoped to have been in a position to post sooner but this "working for a living" thing really gets in the way of my hobby's! Installed the new directional switch and was, thanks to your photos and counsel, able to remove the wires from the connectors, route them down through the column (painfully slow) and back behind the dash. Reassembled the column and connectors and ....Success! All lights working. You guys absolutely helped me out and I thank you all again. Now on to the next task.
