I am absolutely amazed at the amount of quality work that you have accomplished in a relatively short period of time!

How long did it take for the top installation?

Guy ahead of me with 53 forgot his side curtains so his install pushed mine back and it is getting done today, Gilbert is supposed to have it done by three so we can hit the road and be home before midnight.

Since my car isn't driveable, not looking forward to snaking the trailer down isle J at 3 in the afternoon on a Friday at Carlisle...

I should be around Knoch's tent 1-3pm so pop in and say hello.

Up - just not latched after the two weeks
It can /will pull on the windshield upper chrome and pull the dash downwards...
The windshield is heavy and the dash has no support....
I keep mine latched in the back - just loose in the front

Any special techniques for folding the top in and making it fit under the lid...seems very tight.

I think it's a little chance of shrinking if it's CANVAS ! Vino yes it will shrink pulling on the windshield ( nether top should not be so tight)

Very very nice. I was wondering who painted it until post 14. I saw the stuff you had painted and assumed it was all done.

What a great story. Your pictures are fantastic, and I love it that you are going to drive it the whole summer with the patina'd paint. The car is beautiful. Thanks for taking the time to share the story, it's fascinating. Good luck, enjoy the journey!

I actually had paint chips off the hood flying into my face when I was briefly driving her last spring.

I agree with with Chris about keeping the top latched, I do mine a bit different, I keep the front latched and release the rear latches. The reason is that I prefer not to have the top resting on the deck lid any more than necessary.

Trunk finished, latch works, 2 pieces of carpet glued in and 2 to go. Soldering holes for 4 carpet screws so no runs in the loop.. (learned that lesson about 10 years ago..) #mckichan #54corvette #C1
