Thanks Dennis and vettevt. I think I have everything major listed out that this noob can think of to get her safely driving. I know there will be some small things, lights, wiper blades etc. I may have some parts that are fine and I am just not giving them credit because of age or everything may be bad. Please let me know what I missed, cause I'm sure I did. Also, the books I listed on page 4, there is a 68 manual that I don't think I need. If someone needs it let me know and I will send it to you. Radiator – Cleaned / New hoses and T-stat
Carb – Rebuild or replace
New plugs / wires
New beltsMotor – complete go through or start and see what happens (I lean to complete tear down)New correct oil pan
Clutch – Replace? Do they go bad sitting?
Brakes – New Master cylinder, lines, calipers, pads

Fuel tank – New (old one is patched and rusty inside)

elwood-congrats, man, on your vette. Whatever you do, keep “spouses interest” alive by asking her for a favor- and have her in on the procedures. Your main goal is to use this as a family bonding tool, and safe drivability should be your target, and everyone adds their 2cents. BUT, don’t push it, and mistake their cultured interest as license to dismantle everything, unless they want to!?! I have seen these projects draw together or pull apart families. It costs money, time, and you. And everyone usually misses the us that used to exist. So, get that rod driving safely, without taking juniors college $ to buy those can’t do without mag wheels! In my other interest as a music player/equipment freak, and the term used to rate speakers was called WAF, for wife appreciation factor. Big speakers =(sort of) bigger/better sound is equal to big vette undertakings do cost somebody something that came from doing something and diverting it to a hobby fund. Be careful, even though you are the owner, it’s best as a family affair! Ask me how I know!

I get what your saying Mick. This whole thing changed because of my wife. I’m doing way more than I originally thought. As far as funds, I’m dipping into my hobby fund to fix the boy’s driving mistake. His college fund is safe and our just in case of emergency fund is safe (which so many people don’t seem to have now days). I’ld rather slow progress on the hobby than try and repay the other funds.

I pulled the e brake on yesterday in the garage while working on the car so it wouldn't roll in neutral and it stuck on! I guess the cables are corroded and wouldn't release. Glad it happened at home. I got under and backed the balance bar adjusting nut off and it released the pressure so I guess that means the problem is in the front rather than the rear cables but not sure, have to investigate further, always something.
Any way glad your making such great progress, keep it up.

Glad your son is ok, Chris. Those are the strongest wheel studs I've ever seen. I have never, ever, seen a rotor break like that. Usually the wheel or steering arm or control arms go. Crazy. I got an email from the painter. I am back at my brother’s for my niece’s wedding. I gave the small block hood to my sister-in-law and nieces. They want to hang it on a garage wall with his license plate collection. I thought that was cool.
Back to the painter. Gel coat has been applied, blocked and high build primer applied. Guess it won’t be long now so I better hurry up on that frame.

Your car is coming out great. I Hope my bodywork goes as well. I'm also using wider than stock rear quarters. Your pictures show me I've made the correct decision to go that way as well. My frame may be ahead of yours but your way ahead of me with the bodywork. It seems that our project ideas are very similar.
Allso I just saw the part about your sons car....glad he's ok....but as a 25 year Honda master tech, I've never seen a Honda rotor do that !

They will shoot the louvers separately? Looks like they are masked off.
He may be shooting light "guide coats" in a different color primer prior to block sanding. This helps to see if any waves still remain. Even the factory did this. The louvers should not require all this preparation, and may be covered until final primer coat is applied.
