Forgot the kid rotor pics. The pic of the car is after the impact with the curb and this is where he ended up pulling into the business. I know its a tangent to build thread but oh well.

I cringe when I see that, but pass out when I hear the estimate!
It’s part of the build thread as it impacts the financing. Have you figured out what you are going to do?

Hey Chris,
Unfortunate for your Son, but glad he's doing ok.
Your car is looking great!
I haven't worked on the '63 all week. We lost power when this big storm hit, and tomorrow starts the 5th day of no power.
I crawled up in the attic yesterday, and was able to get the heater going.

Thanks Dennis and vettevt. I think I have everything major listed out that this noob can think of to get her safely driving. I know there will be some small things, lights, wiper blades etc. I may have some parts that are fine and I am just not giving them credit because of age or everything may be bad. Please let me know what I missed, cause I'm sure I did. Also, the books I listed on page 4, there is a 68 manual that I don't think I need. If someone needs it let me know and I will send it to you. Warning,
it smells like old books. If I understand the forum rules correctly, I can ask about part brands but be careful about vendors, correct?
Change all fluids
Radiator – Cleaned / New hoses and T-stat
Carb – Rebuild or replace
New plugs / wires
New beltsMotor – complete go through or start and see what happens (I lean to complete tear down) New correct oil pan
Clutch – Replace? Do they go bad sitting?
Brakes – New Master cylinder, lines, calipers, pads
Tires – New
Fuel tank – New (old one is patched and rusty inside)
Wiring harness – test first before replace or just replace
Front End:
Replace upper/lower control arm bushings
Replace sway bar bushings
Replace ball joints
Replace tie rod ends
Idler arm
Pitman arm
Relay rod – keep or replace
Wheel bearings – New
Shocks - New
Rag Joint ?
Steering box – clean and redo
Rear End:
New Shocks
Replace Strut rod bushings
Replace Control arm bushings
Replace Rear stabilizer bushings
Axle shaft U-Joints – New
Drive shaft U-Joints – New
Rear wheel bearings – New
Rear end – New seals or complete go through
Transmission – New seals or complete go through
Rear spring liners – replace or leave alone
BodyNew seat belts – only have half a seat. Wife wants shoulder beltsWife wants headrest seats – I have to research if that can be added to existing or buy complete Side window weather stripping
In addition to the manuals on page 4, from what I have searched here, I still need an AIM manual, Noland Adams Resto book and maybe an NCRS manual. Anything else I missed?
Thanks in advance

OK, dumb question time.....
For these original 461 head specs, what does it mean to have no accessory holes? I've heard of some people drilling them, why would they and what would they be used for? Looking to rebuild my original block. Thanks.

That’s not good Pat. Guess I need to get the older son to hurry up and finish lineman school so he can get your power back.
I get what your saying Mick. This whole thing changed because of my wife. I’m doing way more than I originally thought. As far as funds, I’m dipping into my hobby fund to fix the boy’s driving mistake. His college fund is safe and our just in case of emergency fund is safe (which so many people don’t seem to have now days). I’ld rather slow progress on the hobby than try and repay the other funds.
Holt, I think you will get all your lines just as good.

Glad to hear your son is ok.
Project looking good.
I pulled the e brake on yesterday in the garage while working on the car so it wouldn't roll in neutral and it stuck on! I guess the cables are corroded and wouldn't release. Glad it happened at home. I got under and backed the balance bar adjusting nut off and it released the pressure so I guess that means the problem is in the front rather than the rear cables but not sure, have to investigate further, always something.
Any way glad your making such great progress, keep it up.

I’m just glad you didn’t do like my brother and tie ropes to the bumpers and give her a pull.

Great thread Chris! Not sure how I missed it up until this point, but just spent the last hour or so reading the whole thing. I'm glad your boy is ok....hopefully the banged up Honda won't slow you down too much.

Glad your son is ok, Chris. Those are the strongest wheel studs I've ever seen. I have never, ever, seen a rotor break like that. Usually the wheel or steering arm or control arms go. Crazy. Good luck with the project, and again, thank you so much for gifting me those spark plugs...my GTO thanks you!

I got an email from the painter. I am back at my brother’s for my niece’s wedding. I gave the small block hood to my sister-in-law and nieces. They want to hang it on a garage wall with his license plate collection. I thought that was cool.
Back to the painter. Gel coat has been applied, blocked and high build primer applied. Guess it won’t be long now so I better hurry up on that frame.

They will shoot the louvers separately? Looks like they are masked off.

Chris,
Your car is coming out great. I Hope my bodywork goes as well. I'm also using wider than stock rear quarters. Your pictures show me I've made the correct decision to go that way as well. My frame may be ahead of yours but your way ahead of me with the bodywork. It seems that our project ideas are very similar.
Allso I just saw the part about your sons car....glad he's ok....but as a 25 year Honda master tech, I've never seen a Honda rotor do that !
Regards,
Chris
