Exactly. I was not sure I'd buy it until yesterday morning after looking it over. Frankie's point is well taken, and I would say it was more a case of "reasonable precautions" than outright paranoia.

Yeah, those are ‘63. These are ‘64 Caps.

Really? I have never bought a car and not had insurance in place for the transport home. I assumed that was SOP. I call my agent and tell her what I’m up to and she tells me I’m covered for 30 days.

Anyway, CONGRATS on the cool buy RRman! Have a ball with it !

Thanks Vettebuyer, I'm excited about the car. You are correct, the owners manual even has a pic of the 64 covers.

Car was originally sold in Buffalo NY, about an hour from me. From there to Iowa and back again!

This looks like a nice project that fits perfect with your rebuild plans. When you're done you will have great driver that you can enjoy. Good luck going forward. Keep the updates coming.

There are actually 2 different 64 caps. Difference depends on the amount of paint and what part of the year it was built determines which it got.

If I read the trim tag right this is a June 64 build. One deviation from original I do plan is '67 type rally wheels, I like the looks of those better than what came with it.

Congrats Railroadman. Glad you got her home safe. On a side note, can I just ask you questions all the time so I can be a n00b forever?

Congrats on the new toy. One day I'll get back into C2's as well. I miss my 66 all the time.

Yeah, that did not come across quite as I intended, and no offense meant to any n00bs. You may ask me any questions you wish, but be warned there is far more I DON'T know than what I DO. I already got an education on wheel covers and I'm sure there will be more things as we go along!

It looks nice. We are both starting off with similar goals. Good luck. I have yet to find a bolt that doesn’t want to fight even after days of PB Blaster.

No offense taken as I knew you were joking. I was just kidding with you. One thing I have learned about forums is that statement/jokes are sometimes taken the wrong way because the reader cannot hear the inflections as if it were an oral statement. Moderating a forum is tough job. If you over moderate it's a boring place. If you under moderate it becomes a miserable place. From what I have read here I believe the Mods are doing a good job and I would like to thank them. Anyway, looking forward to your rebuild and your jokes.

Congratulations Railroad man. Glad you found a new toy.
How about details? What engine, rear axle, how many miles?
Have fun with it.

It's the chase that matters. Glad you got a good one. So now the pedal steel guitar will slip somewhat. Dennis
