Sad for the original builder, but happy for you and looking forward to seeing the build continue. Looks like he was making good progress up until March of this year. Hope he is doing alright!

previous owner is nice guy, he is doing fine. it was a "father/son" project, and the son bugged out. suckie deal, but the work that he accomplished is very nice. Rick

For my money a '66 L72 convertible is the absolute pinnacle of Corvettedom. The '66 has all the chrome, the best side louvers, the best big block hood and the L72 has all the go-fast goodies without the hassle of three carburetors. If I had one I figure I'd likely never have the want for a different Corvette.

Agreed, except I prefer coupes these days due to my Nordic skin tone.

Congrats on a nice find, and of course you know at leat one of us will be watching your progress carefully.

You will definitely enjoy taking younger new Camaro and Mustang owners for a spin. Most of em have no clue these things can actually get out of their own way.

Chrome not technically correct for 1966. Should be orange. What was on the car as I bought it and it came with the original orange ones.

My 70 454 has chrome and that was stock for the model year.

Here is a pic of a more stock look

WELL......, i may end up doing what you are apparently doing, two pair of valve covers, correct painted ones, and the better looking CHROME! lol

I know, I know. It looks awesome with the chrome. I'm not concerned about NCRS at this time.

I might be the odd man out, but I have always preferred the painted steel covers for the 427 Big Blocks!
