Found this on POR's website Dad. Think its interesting that the old stuff said 1400 degrees and the new is 1200.

POR-15® High Temp Paint

Guaranteed to maintain rich, brilliant colors without burning off or discoloring.

POR-15® High Temp Paint is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures up to 1200°F and will resist cracking, chipping, and peeling. It is also extremely weather, salt and moisture resistant. We guarantee this to be the most uniform heat-resistant coating available anywhere. Sandblasting is the optimum surface preparation. Can be used on all cars, domestic or foreign. Meets or exceeds properties and requirements of MIL-C-13370.

Formerly POR-20, Black Velvet and Factory Manifold Gray

Thank you for your help,

(Sorry for the picture being sideways.... does not come up like that on my computer. Not sure how to correct....)
That's what I used on both my cars, and per their instructions, I didn't strip and sand the manifolds. I brush painted them on the engine and in the car. Two coats a day apart. I used enough sand paper to knock off any loose rust and painted over the rust as the can said. The 60 has been two years and the 65 about 5 months. It gets a nicer color after you drive a couple of times. Just follow directions on the can.

PS:

My master cylinder was also rust covered and I painted it with the same Por_15 if you'll notice in the picture of the 327 just above

this por in the pics is not manifold grey. the hi temp manifold grey looks like cast iron. like untreated master cylinders or exhaust manifolds. they also make it in silver. i think the can you show is the correct color. if you have exhaust manifolds ceramic coated, the shop has to offer hi temp coating. otherwise it will burn off. the correct coating will hold more heat that a properly tuned engine generates.

I just did mine last night, media blasted, then painted straight from the can, this is the only POR15 available now, 1200° and it does say MANIFOLD GRAY, and it look great. In this pic it was not fully dry yet.

Cure 24 hours, then apply second coat, dry 24 hours, then bake at 300° for 15 minutes, then off oven, leave in oven to slowly cool.

I like it, looks different but still nice appearing.
I dont know why some get criticized as its "not correct" who cares what everyone else is doing? Whats "correct" is what makes the owner happy screw NCRS.
What fun is it making yours exactly like everyone elses?

Did my chassis/motor with POR products well over 10 yrs ago looks like the day I painted it all still. Good chit if you follow directions. Its the ones that get lazy and shortcut that have problems youll hear badmouthing their stuff.

It was a lot of work and not cheap but nothing good is.
