LED lamp upgrade question
About to upgrade my stop/tail/indicators and front Parker/indicators to LED. Question. Is there any advantage buying the pre assembled LED lamp units compared to buying LED globes and installing them? There is obviously a big difference in price. And yes I realise I will have to install an electronic flasher unit. Can someone explain the pros and cons of each method. Thanks

Having bought the cheaper globe type LED bulbs previously, I can safely say they were a waste of time and money.
I then went with the LED assemblies for the tail and front park/turn lights, and could not be more pleased. Much brighter than even the higher wattage standard globe bulbs (which will eventually melt and deform the plastic lens).
If you want to purchase quality globe type LED bulbs that will be as bright or brighter, I would recommend: https://www.superbrightleds.com/
I did purchase their instrument LED lamps, and those work better than great (and are dimmable).

Russell,
I purchased 4 of the 'modules' for the rear of my '61 from Zip 4 years ago. I recently had one go 'intermittent'. It would sometimes go 'dim'. Likely a loose solder connection. I tried to repair it but it's a sealed unit.
So I bought a single unit on ebay for $30. It was the exact same as the 4 I already had.. so I suspect there is only one maker of these.
I realize you likely have less options when purchasing from down under.

I've been using LED bulbs for about 6 months and have had no issues with them so far. I replaced the front marker/turn bulbs with switchback LEDs and now have bright white DLRs with yellow turn signals. Tail and brake lights are much brighter that stock bulbs and the BUs are bright white. I got all lamps and flasher from amazon.
