Default Shared Shipping from Stinger Fiberglass in FL

Hi All:

I plan to buy another hood for my 62 vette re-nose project (project on another thread on the forum). I plan to buy from Stinger in Titusville, Fl. I do not need a press molded hood for my purposes, so they will suite my needs.

As with most body parts, the part is around $600, but the shipping almost $200 .. Ouch.

They are very helpful on the phone, and admit shipping is a killer, but out of their hands. They did offer up that they can ship multiple boxes, and the shipping is about the same cost.

Above opens an opportunity if anyone else in the Boston area needs some body parts, that maybe we can combine orders and share the shipping.

Note.. This probably opens a slew of scammer potential here (yeah Jim.. ship it to my house...) so if interested, you, like I, should be someone that has a solid identity and track record here on the forum.

Alternately.. anyone traveling from Titusville to MA area and would like to bring up a hood for some $$. When unboxed, these hoods are actually quite light and small.

Cheers !

Jim

Shared shipping is a great option that can be used to reduce the shipping expenses. I have also sent as well as ordered some items through shared shipping. But I haven’t had to do so for some time now as I usually hire the courier services Dallas for delivery purposes these days and their rates are not that expensive at all.

Does Stinger have any connection with Eklers? Seems strange that they are both in the same town....

Put the hood on a Greyhound bus, probably $50 shipping.

There seems to be some kind of connection between them. I don't think Eckler's makes any glass themseives anymore. I suspect that Stinger makes it all for them now.

yup, I got a hood once this way. The only negative is if a bus is full of luggage already it waits until there is a bus that has room. It will arrive, just might take longer than expected!

When I called Ecklers they said the guy that makes some of their hoods was close by in a nearby town. Probably is them.

From what I was told, Stinger has all of Ecklers molds. I bought a front air dam for my 70 , it came from Stinger quickly and of good quality.
