OP hasn't been on this post in 2 days. Must not be a big deal. I wonder how his '63 is coming along?

[QUOTE=fjd;1597209763]All
I just purchased a 63 and Im a newbie. The previous owner (13 years) doesn't know much about it and the prior owner is deceased. How can I tell whats original and whats not? Like did it come with A/C, what colors originally, etc?
To date Ive found it was special silver with a dark blue inside which is what color the rug is which appears to be original. I guess at some point the interior was done over in 64 silver but its so brittle and old it must have been a long time ago. AC has been added as well as the power booster and dual reservoir master cylinder (not shown in these pics) as well as a tilt colum. All these parts are Ekerts parts.
Thanks

Im not sure how I can tell. Please to all members forgive my status as a newbie that doesnt know much but is grateful for your help. I can tell you I just filled it up from bone dry with premium. The cost as 63 dollars. I didnt check how many gallons went in but rough math is about 18 gallons so Im guessing not.

The “special silver” you reference is a regular production color, Sebring Silver code 941. I think the “special” part is the fact it was the only color option that year that actually cost extra, a whopping $80.70.
The combo with blue is very rare and gorgeous.
Your VIN tag looks “refreshed” to me. The tag itself is quite new looking, and the bar it’s affixed to is freshly painted. The original look usually shows some grinding behind the 2 spot welds. A prior owner must have detailed this area.
