Braided Plug Wires

There's not a lot that can be done. The braids are made from tinned copper that tarnishes front oxidation. A general purpose metal polish like Brasso might help a bit, but don't get your hopes up. If they're not the original wires there are plenty of correct date coded replacement sets available.

I would be more concerned about the electrical resistance condition of old wires. Dennis

I would consider the wires themselves to be bad after 50 years. Pertronix makes a high quality 7mm wire set with boots that look like OE. Take the braiding off the original wires and clean it in solution, then make new wires with the Pertronix kit.
