Default RestoMod

I'm getting ready to begin a C1 RestoMod project. I just got my donor car (1960).
What is best part of Forum to monitor to help me and how best to do so?

Depends what you want to do and do yourself....how far you want to go and how much money do you want to spend.

Here is a book I put together on the build of my 1960...it is free to download http://www.blurb.com/my/ebooks/331964-red-hot-updated

Define YOUR version of the term "restomod" - its used to describe a ZZ4 engine upgrade with disc brakes to $300,000 full blown beauties with aftermarket chassis/suspension/LS? engines and over-the-top interiors....

Here is a definition I found on-line: This is NOT my definition, but from an expert of classic cars.

Restomod vs Restore

What is the difference between restomod and restoration? And which is the better option for your automotive? It is true that the two terms often cause confusion, but the explanation is fairly straightforward.
  • Restoration essentially refers to taking a great classic car and bringing it back to life with all (or most) of the original factory parts. The process involves repair of the visible parts (e.g., body trim, interior, etc.), as well as the parts not easily seen (e.g., electrical, suspension, brakes, etc.). The result is a beautifully preserved automobile in factory-new condition with authentic parts – just like it came off the showroom floor decades ago.
  • Restomod (restoration + modern parts/technology) draws from all the amazing advancements in automobile technology over the past 40+ years to enhance the performance, comfort and safety of the classic car. A restomod car has the timeless appearance of the original, but the outdated guts of the car have been replaced with the more modern, high-performance parts of today. You achieve the same great look, but your vintage car will be revved up with all the latest bells and whistles to create a much better ride for the owner. Default Me Too!!

I want to start my resto mod build hopefully by the end of this year. I have a 59 I purchased from my Aunt who has the car for 35 years in pieces. My uncle bought it, drove it home and took it apart. My aunt has never drove it.

I am wanting to put an Art Morrison frame under it with an LS3 in the range of 650 to 720 horsepower. I love this web site will all the ideas and pictures. Here is my diamond in the rough.

Default Lots of fun

I'm trying to finish up the 67 Chevelle Convertible SS 427 car so it can go up for sale, then the 59 Vette is next. Had the 67 for 21 years, but sad to say, the 59 will take a ton of money.
Too many dang projects, or maybe, not enough??

Fix what's broken. It will drive nice and you will be happy
it's an old car. Embrace that.
