Anybody going to Mecum Indianapolis May 15-20th?!!
Just curious if anybody is going to Mecum next week. I’ll be there From the 16th-20th trying to sell my polished all aluminum 289FIA Kirkham. Come say hi if you are attending.

Come say hello. I should be in the staging area early tomorrow morning. There was a good bit of attention around the car today and unfortunately, a lot of disrespectful people banging on the aluminum with fist and knuckles and a good bit of rubbing on the car with belts and badges, but i suppose that is just part of it. Ill send you my number in a PM.
I should have arrived yesterday, but my new trailer had a bearing burn out and I spent 7 hours broken down getting it repaired.

No worries! Thanks for the nice picture. Unfortunately, it did not sell. The place cleared out around 7pm, which I find odd for a Friday night, but oh well.
If you don't mind me asking, how was your overall Mecum experience? I hear mixed reviews.
I'm officially done with Mecum as a seller. I have consigned 8 cars with them over the years and I have never had a great experience. Of the 8, I sold 4 and I let all of them go below the reserve. It's a great place to buy, but only a good place to sell if you have something very unusual or rare.
Every time I have consigned a car with Mecum I have had to argue with them about the price and then argue for a decent spot. I'm not consigning cheap cars with them either, these are all 100-200K cars. So, would i recommend them, absolutely not, unless you have a Ford GT.
If you have an entire collection of cars, then I’m sure they would give you good time slots.
i just get angry when they tell me one of my cars isn’t worth what I’m asking, them I show up at the auction and they have total turds with a projected value higher than mine.
Yes, their projected values are interesting. I saw several cars bid in their projected value range and not sell. Definitely seems like cars are being bidded up.
