How do you remove the part that the turn signal arm attaches to? I’ve removed the three screws and arm but it won’t pull out so I can examine the contacts.

Traced it down to the turn signal switch, you’re correct 65GGvert! I massaged the contacts and it got me brake lights, but no consistent turn signals. Got a new one on order. Are the reproductions good?

Hopefully, your new switch will be better than the one I got, about 10 years ago. As you can see in the picture below, the contacts are really close. I would remove the actuating lever and have a look.

Yeah, the top one is very close, should it be? What did you do? Are the contacts symmetrical?

Look at the picture I posted earlier for how they should look.

Got the new switch from Lectric Limited installed and working! Funny how fixing even the little things can really lift your spirits.

I’m back to square one again, no brake lights or dome, blows fuse. Left turn signal doesn’t work, right turn blinks rapidly. I’m thinking switch again so need to take the steering wheel off, again, and examine switch. If contacts are too close, do you bend them or send the switch back?

Is there another alternative to this POS rinky dink switch, electronic I hope?

Probably already checked this but reach up and find the ground wire on the offending tail light housing. Move it back and forth to be certain the ground has good contact. Worth a try!

No, it was that pigtail connector again touching the side of the socket and blowing the stoplight fuse, Never seen such a piece of ill fitting crap!
Anyway, doesn’t account for the fact that my turn signals won’t work now but was working fine before this. When I turn the right turn, it works correctly but you have to hold the left handle down now to get it to blink and they both blink fast (didn’t before).
Is there some kind of clocking I must do? What’s wrong? Is this new switch bad?

Also, the blinkers worked great before this, but there is no flasher installed in the fuse box. How can that be?

In 1965, the flasher is supposed to be mounted to the drivers side radio panel. I can’t find it. Is it on the inside of the panel? Anyone have a pic?

If you're sitting in the seat swing your right knee over against the radio panel the Flasher should be connected to a plug right above your right knee, should be clipped in a little metal clip mounted on the radio panel but could be hanging loose

Trying to remove that panel to get better access. Does that rubber plug just pull out? Seems rather difficult.

If it's still in the clip, it will be here. If not, it could be dangling behind the radio. Look up under for a two wire bundle to a two wire connector. The wires should be a brown and a violet

I don’t doubt you guys even for a second, I know it has to be there. I’ve got on my back, looked for a round or square cylinder and I just don’t see it. Is it mounted to something, Z frame maybe? Is it above the Z frame? Would it help to pull the dash out?

I posted this before I saw your last pic. Yes! The violet wire goes behind that radio panel so to get it, I feel I have to remove that panel. So, back to that rubber button, how do I get that panel off please?
