Default Battery replacement

Do I need to look for anything special when replacing the battery in a big block?

I would say if the one you are replacing is dimensionally compatible ie. fits well, pos and neg terminals are well placed left right etc. for easy connection to your present cable length and the CCA's were sufficient dont overthink it and buy one as exactly the same as possible.

If you are like some of us - look for a good back brace. Strap it on.

Just replaced mine (327) if your old battery doesn't have a strap find a big pair of channel locks to grab a terminal in order to lift and twist out.

I do. If not, have your chiropractor on speed dial....
As for the macho, "channel locks on the terminal type" -- you have my admiration but not my emulation...

If yer built like a termite, get a couple handfuls of wheel weights and put them in yer back pocket. That'll help hold yer feet on the ground when you go over the fender.

Ya know they make lifting straps that hook over the terminals.

You can get a better angle with the channel locks.

If you didn't know my Hemi/Vette is stuffed with Chrysler stuff. They had moved the battery behind the drivers seat in the storage area. If it where me I would have put it behind the pass seat for better balance. I may do that later.
