A close up, high definition picture would help.

engine F0218HT; Vehicle birth date April 12th, per one on-line calculator. Other P-o-P stampings: diff AN0330, trans P0401. Actually, now that I look at my example, it seems this engine was built way before it was installed at St. Louis.

My cousin, who passed away in November 2016, owned a 1962 Chevy Impala 2 door hardtop, and a 1948 Ford coupe street rod. Both had Chevy 327 c.i. engines. Prior to his passing he sold the street rod in an effort to downsize, and the Impala has since been passed down to his son. I am trying to assist my cousin’s wife and son in disposing of some of the remaining car parts that neither of them have any use for.
One of the items they would like to sell is an extra 327 c.i. Chevy engine. It is not known if this was the engine out of the street rod, or just a spare if needed for either car. I posted awhile back for information regarding the engine number which was 5114279 F0329HT. The response I received indicated it was from a 1965 Corvette, number 14,279 built approximately April 5th, engine assembled March 29, 1965 and was a 327 350 hp with manual transmission and a holey carburetor.
Yes the engine has been setting for a number of years, but knowing how meticulous my cousin was in everything he did, I can’t believe this wasn’t a good engine in running condition, or at least a good rebuildable engine when he acquired it.
Since my last post, I have taken pictures and obtained the following numbers:
Intake manifold - #3844461
Block casting - #GM 3782870
Bell housing - #3858403
RH Head casting - #8782461 0235
LH Head casting - #8782461 0195
I will attempt to attach the pictures to this post.
What I would like to know is, what would be a fair price for them to ask for this engine.
Thank you for the input.
Bruce.

If you can find the owner of the matching VIN '65 Corvette, it might really be worth something.
For the average buyer looking for a mid-'65 870 327 long block, it depends. A big part of that is that engine appears to not have been protected from an environment that allowed it to rust deeply as evidenced by the exhaust outlet flanges, among other surfaces. Additionally, one of the valve covers appears ajar, so the engine might be full of heavy rust pitting and damage.

Hi Bruce
at the top of the C1/C2 forum is a Sticky for Orphan items that were removed from corvettes - click on the link below
Paste the thread there and you can also see what others have for prices on their engines

The car (either coupe or convertible) does not show up on NMVTIS.
I posted this info in orphan threads on the NCRS website.

I’m no expert on this but other examples I have seen of known originals have uniform font size and spacing. This appears as if the T might have been stamped separately.
