Alternator bracket, what do I need
I am in the process of moving the alternator on my 64 from the pass side to the driver's side (in preparation for Vintage A/C).
I have the correct 1964 left hand exhaust manifold, and the correct (I think) lower alternator mount bracket.
I am looking for the correct upper mount bracket.
What is it? Part number, picture, measurements would all be good.
It almost looks like it would need to be something a bit unusual shaped to clear the upper radiator hose.

Why not buy the correct GM design brackets from Pragon or others for factory AC cars

My guess would be the exhaust manifolds and how the lower mounting bracket is configured. I don’t have a AIM to look it up.

You will also want the A/C upper radiator hose.

Isn't the passenger car alternator and mounted bracket on the left side? I wonder if the mounting bracket would be the same as Corvette with A/C? I don't have a 64 pass car AIM.

Upper brace for 64-65 with 365 hp is part number 3946862.
They have distinctly different shapes. Not sure why yet.

Your installing aftermarket AC, and want to move your alternator to the other side so you can install the compressor on the pass side correct?? shape of the upper brace is irrelevant as its not going to be original anyways. both will work, nobody is going to point out an alternator bracket doesn't look correct on a car with vintage AC. your overthinking this.

Also occurred to me that the dual snorkel air cleaner is different between an A/C and a non A/C car.
I am not that hung up on originality, I just want it to look "correct".
I will do am much as I can with the brackets on the Vintage Air system as well.
No, it will not look totally original, but close.

The alternator mounting plates provided for my 63 Vintage Air plate looked like back yard Bubba stuff. Beefy plates, heavy looking and in-your-face.
I used all '63 A/C car mounting stuff from Long Island Corvettes....it worked well and that included the brackets, spacers and radiator hose (I don't remember the '63 snorkel air cleaner being different).... I upgraded the one-year-only alternator internally to 100 amps too. A much cleaner look.
As to the Sanden compressor ? It is what it is ? Won't ever look original but that's the price you pay.

Don't listen to the detractors...

It will look as if the factory installed the Sanden compressor, or as close as I can get. Thanks.

I am working on an adapter so I can use the 365 hp air cleaner base on my 300 hp carb, at least for tie time being.

Looking at your engine, I realize that my oil fill tube fits in the opposite direction from yours (mine is tilted toward the driver's side); my upper radiator hose is moved more towards the left side than yours; and my dual snorkel air cleaner tube is also going to cause some issues.

Here is a pic of a 65 300hp AC car I built a few years back, probably more like your 64.

The upper alternator brace on your 300 hp car looks a lot like the part called for on the 365 hp car, and it appears to have plenty of clearance. That upper brace is not hard to find. Thanks for the photos
