I've been learning much from the experienced folks on this forum. Even though this is a restored Corvette, it has a few small issues I will sort out over time. That's part of the enjoyment. Thanks for all your help so far. Peter

Was restored 3 years ago, car from Florida. Came with a book and pictures and NCRS Top-Flight Award. Has P/S and P/B. Was purchased in Summerville, Ga, Greg Wyatt's place. Tomorrow I will crawl under the car to try and adjust the parking brake as there is none. Hope that works. Next, there is a clanging noise when I start off or come to a stop, sounds like something in the suspension. It's kinda loud, scared my wife last night when we went for a ride. I guess these 50+ year old cars will always need something even when restored.

Yes a restored car is never done. Sadly some never get driven after a resto and don’t get all the bugs worked out

All that and top flight, too.

Odd noises are part of the "fun" of these cars.

I would say you are a very lucky guy. What a beautiful car to have. I hope you have some boys that can also enjoy it with you or even a daughter!!!!

Check the rear axle snubber as a possible source of that noise.

BTW - nice car, best year and best color too!

Great looking convertible! Looks well done. I love the color combination. Take your time and you will get it all sorted out. Yes 50 year old cars require attention. Have at it and enjoy every minute. Good luck going forward.

Since you have a bow tie mirror, your VIN is likely below 10,500 (assuming your mirror hasn’t been replaced). That’s around the time they switched over to the non-bow. My ‘67 is a late year car and doesn’t have a bow tie mirror. At first I thought it was an incorrect replacement and was on the verge of buying a bow tie mirror and trashing the one on the car. Fortunately, I came across an article about the early vs. late year mirrors while searching for the replacement mirror.

Beautiful car.

Steve

Thanks Steve, I checked the VIN and its 2430 so you're right about the bowtie mirror. I can't find a new one so I ordered a reproduction one and will keep the
sagging mirror just in case I ever sell it. I don't think there is a fix for the one I have. Peter

Depends on how and where it's sagging. Folks here have dealt with these mirrors before and I'm sure someone will jump in and advise you.

BTW, my car is a Greg Wyatt car, too.

I have a terrific son who's in his last year in medical school. He came by to see the new addition and loves it. He wants me to leave it to him when I die, LOL. Why not
