Default 1965 Spare Tire

Never have looked in the spare tire carrier since I got the car. So today I dropped the cover. Dug out a really old 775X15 Gulf Tire "Crown". Marked DOT 173 and 4 Ply Nylon. Plenty of tread.

It was dirty as all get out and on a steel black rim.

Really did not expect to find something that old. Figured it would be some kind of replacement radial.

Will load some pics when I get chance. Probably get rid of it and throw in a space saver.

Gulf Tires were sold at Gulf service stations in the old days. This U.S. Royal Super Safety was in my spare well when I bought my 64. Of course it is wrong for 64's. Anyone need one for a show spare?

Thanks for the info....pumped it up yesterday with air...still holding. But I have no plans for it to be my spare.

Dude...do you EVER see yourself on the side of the road, taking off a Knock-Off and adapter and installing a spare? I mean EVER?

Not gonna happen, put it back the way you found it and save yourself some moola.

So far hadn't looked into yet. Not sure if they make one or not.
