Default 1961 drum brakes

Where is best place to buy parts , for them need a new piston for rear it let go and thought the cr was going up in flames scary. prob just replace all 4 , have not done the brakes yet since i have had it

You can buy Dorman parts from NAPA anytime for any brake requirement you have.

If you want to rebuild the originals - they can sell you the kits...

I don't know about separate pistons....

Uh - my advice was assuming you have original drum setup......if its a disc brake conversion then ignore my suggestions.....

My (dim) memory is that NAPA does sell wheel cylinder pistons as piece parts.

Check your rubber brake lines just the same - they typically "hour glass" internally and make look fine but be faulty....if they clog closed it'll hold that wheel's brake on and dragging...

Title of the post is '1961 drum brakes' so I think he's dealing with wheel cylinders. I got everything for my '61 from Rock Auto, and it was Dorman and AC Delco for the wheel cylinders. Did the hoses and spring kits too. Very simple and rewarding work.
