No, but those look like leather seats which I thought were only available in saddle tan in 63. And I'm not liking that blue steering wheel.

Definitely leather and definitely wrong. If it’s a real A/C car (doubtful). It’s worth the money. One of my favorite colors.

But it's a 340hp according to the pics.
Was air available on 340?
Looks like 67 master cylinder, probably added disc brakes.

The car is clearly a "Tribute" or "Clone".

But, is it a 340 Clone?
Or, is it a Factory Air Clone?

It certinately can't be both.

Odd looking later model master cylinder and tall shifter for a car that looks like it’s had some detailed work done to it. Like Swept said, what’s up with the steering wheel?

It would be interesting to know if it was originally air or 340 or neither.

Big price, although if it’s a real air car I understand it. Seems nearly every ‘63 Air car I’ve seen have been white or silver blue, although they more often have more additional options as well.

The Bright Blue steering wheel is probably a repro.

And, the shifter handle is probably one of the imitations that you bolt on a Hurst Shifter.

Looks like it has a power steering pump, so not a 340? Seems like the 340 would be easier to clone than the AC.

True, but if you have a real AC car and an NOM, how much sense does it make to clone it as a car that couldn’t exist?

The presence of the 340 in this case would make the car clearly less valuable, not more, than a 300hp I think.

Help educate me..

Was A/C not available on 340 cars in 1963? I know it was available on 64 340 cars.

What about the A/C bothers ya'll. I know 63 A/C cars are rare, but they do exist.

To me, the best case scenario would be that this is a real 340hp car with added vintage air for comfort.

I completely agree with you on this statement.

In it's current configuration, the car presents itself as a complete sham.

In 1963 factory air was only available with the 250 or 300hp engines.

Also, not until after (approx) VIN #13,000.

IMO its "dressed up" as a 340hp car (so was my base motor car when I bought it)....
The A/C would be more difficult to fabricate for many reasons...

If its a true A/C car it would be worth dumbing it down back to the low HP and preserve its configuraiton...

That's easy enough to do. They did a good job on the intake and valve cover resto tho. Mershons has been in the biz long enough to show the VIN pad, so the lack of that tells me Richie has this one pegged.

Price seems low to me tho. (Full Disclosure: Present 63 owner )

This past April I drove over 900 miles round trip to buy one of their cars. Looked good from the pictures but as soon as I put my eyes on it I knew I was not going to buy it. Would not even start. lights did not work, pedals were missing shifter was loose++++. Oh, it was a dog. Would not make that mistake again.

Interesting tidbit.
AncestryAuto says they have some documentation for this car.
I emailed them and received this reply --

I do have one bank envelope detailing a check paid to a dealer for $11300 sales for that SWC with a dealer’s name and a note listing two owners around 1983. I see that Mershon is selling but he gives no history. The note mentions the motor and an interesting note about an option.

Tach is for a 340. Gaps around headlights and hood look a bit wide...Looks like its been changed to dual brake lines and master cylinder
