They stopped making corvettes after 67
This is something I hear around my area. Due to styling and looks, the last sharp looking corvettes were the C1 and C2. Granted, I hear it mostly from C2 owners and I'm no exception. I was looking at the latest Restorer and there is an article about a group of guys restoring a blue 68 for a kid that had some health issues. The car is beauty and does have a nice look to it but for me it does not capture that corvette look. Prejudice maybe.

I do not think that is a true statement. The 68 and 69 corvette was a great body style as well. I think corvette gave up a little afterwards but make a great body in the early eighties as well. Especially the collectors edition. To each his own. But I stress again for hp and performance the c1s and c2s were revolutionary but they continued through till the early c3 with the ls6 and zr1 cars. After early 70s I think style got complacent and totally dropped off.

I think that statement is old as the 68 Corvette. Solid axle guys say real Corvettes have trunks.

They can say anything they want, and since C-4 jokes are big in Off Topic section I even make a few myself. Just don't try taking my '92 away from me, or you're in for a fight!
(And I'll make the first joke myself - "Who would WANT to?" )

I'm 39, but have owned several C3's as well as C2's. The C3's were a substitute for C2's before I had the means. I no longer have interst in any C3 or C4 (except a C4 ZR1). I started buying new Corvettes when the Z06 came out in 2001.

There is not a single Corvette generation I do not like.

My heart is with the old cars but I just love driving the newer ones. I just think it's great that the tradition lives on.

It is a solid fact, the new Corvettes have it all---------------power, handling, braking, power features, air cond, tunes, and on and on and on-------------------------but they just DO NOT have the magic of the early cars. The new ones are just another monochromatic, aeroslick, cookie cutter shaped car, going unnoticed down the street.
Without question, probably the most iconic Corvette on the planet is the 57 with FI. Yes, it is a crude machine, but it turns the heads that the new ones just DO NOT turn----------------and that is another fact.

The newer stuff is just too refined and nannyfied. Too sterile. Got no soul. Give me some noise, some smells, some good and bad surprises. Something to break up the monotony of new cars, including Corvettes. If you have to get somewhere, a new Corvette is a good thing. But if you are looking for a car ride to recapture your youts, it must be an OLD Corvette, as in pre- 1983, and definitely pre-1973. When they hid the bumpers behind plastic, that changed everything.

I’ve heard that saying. Personally my real interest is with 63-72 cars and as much as I appreciate what goes into a c1, they don’t do as much for me.
C4’s are way underappreciated. My friend is buying his dads 91 8k mike zr1 back and were driving it cross country home if all the planets align in two weeks. A world-beating car then and still very, very fast today.

Both the older and newer Corvettes are wonderful cars, and can both be enjoyed in different ways. I have one of each, and enjoy them both.

Glad you like your C7 but around here the early cars get most of the looks. I drove my '66 in a parade full of C6and C7 cars last year and it seemed to be the one that got more attention. I'm not knocking C7's in fact I like them a lot. I do feel however that because you see so few early cars they garner the lion's share of attention.
