Its such a good feeling...
Its such a good feeling when I know I can do the following:
1. Go into my garage.
2. Turn the battery cutoff switch to on.
3. Set the hood down.
4. Get seated in and buckled up.
5. Roll the windows down.
6. Top up or down.
7. Start the engine with one turn on the ignition if the corvette has not been sitting too long.
8. Then drive out the driveway.
Makes me smile every time!
I also forgot:
1. Drive back into the garage.
2. Turn off the corvette.
3. Switch the battery cutoff.
4. Smell some lingering light exhaust fumes.
Then head back into garage to smell the faint smell once more.
Also, forgot...
1. Top down/top up.
2. Going through upshifting/downshifting.
3. Drving down my favorite roads.
Rather do that than to park the corvette at a car show.
Now, the part that is not so good:
1. Getting behind a PRIUUS.
2. Passing the PRIUUS then stopping for gas.
3. Passing the same PRIUUS once more.

Driving is definitely what it's all about. I try to get out every day. Unfortunately, it's raining here today. , My pet peeve is all the people texting while driving. Every time I go out, somebody is on the wrong side of the road.
We are indeed fortunate to be able to enjoy these great cars. One of life's greatest pleasures is driving them.

the guys that have new cars just don't understand what it's like to have an old one that has been worked on and adjusted and sworn at (occasionally) to get it to the point where you just get in and turn the key. Getting into an old one to drive though, BIG smile time... look forward to it ever time I can take the car out! I know exactly how you feel.

Oh yeah nothing better. Just walked in from a quick 10 mile ride to scratch the itch.
Left the top down despite the ominous clouds here.
Car is really in the zone right now running consistent 180 deg with strong oil pressure and not a single oil or coolant leak anywhere after my winter tear down.
Life is good and its right where I wanna be.

I guess this is the entire point of this thread. Its such a cool car just to know I can get in and drive. Yeah, it can have its own set of problems but man it so cool just to get out onto the road. Even this morning, someone with a honda/toyota thought he was cool to speed up to me. Then let out a little carbon and no comparison. The noise alone shook him... HA!
